I was on Remicade for 7 yrs and just made the switch to Cimzia because the Remicade wasn't working anymore.  What r some side effects that the group has experienced??  After only one week after my first injection I am feeling light-headed, nauseous and short of breath.  I'm wondering if it isn't my crohn's that is really fired up or a side effect to the drug itself.

The only reaction I have to Cimzia is a large white splotch on my skin around the injection site. It clears up a few days after the shot. I know the first time I had mtx (my first attempt with it years ago) I was so nervous about starting it that I had symptoms like you describe. I think it was just me being nervous. These are hard core drugs, so there's nothing odd about feeling that way. So, hopefully your next Cimzia shots will be easier.

When I used to get the shots on the clinical trial, there was once or twice where it seemed like I had a little difficulty breathing, but it went away.  I don't know if it was a reaction or just the fact that I had to walk several blocks to the hospital before and after.  I've been on it for about a year again (was on it for a year during the trial and then tried Humira for a year) and have not had this problem again.  Only side effects I ever get is the occasional white whelt around the injection site.  Ask your dr. if you have the reaction again.  I asked the clinical trial people and they said no one in the trial had had the reaction, so they thought mine was caused by something else, but you never know...everyone reacts differently.

None really...sometimes, very rarely (occurred every time with remicade) I would get muscle I just finished a is not really painful and it didn't really last more than a few hours, so I have never really reported it...I would rest...and then feel better and feel it working...
Good luck!

For the first couple of months I had occasional pruritus (itchy skin). Sometimes I get flu-like fatigue, usually after injections, but not for a while. I also get chronic mild-to-moderate headaches, which I take acetaminophen for.

Am I the only one on Cimzia with every side effect listed?  swelling of lower legs, muscle pain in legs...and I mean PAINFUL, random sharp stabbing pain in a toe or somewhere on my feet, numbness in feet, trouble breathing, chronic respiratory infections, boils.  It stops right before I am due for a shot and spacing the shots two weeks apart have helped tremdously with the leg pain but I have no control over the D, but at least I don't have any abdominal pain or cramping
diagnosed 13 days following an MMR vaccination at the age of 44
tried Colazal, Pentasa, Immuran, Remicade, Prednisone, Cipro, Flagyl, LDN, Osiris clinical study,  accupuncture, began Cimzia 5/2009
