I remember a recent posting about horrible doctors. I wanted to give a shout out about my GI and GP who are really terrific. I'm between insurance and they have been so kind to me.
During my recent appt with my GP where he said we are going to have to look at proably bigger guns as far as RX to control my symptoms - six months of prednisone is enough!, I said I really hate this disease. I had a tear or two in my eye.  He looked at me, tearing up himself and then gave me a hug.
I quickley tried to control myself as I didn't want him to cry!  He is so empathetic and attentive.  There are good ones out there! My GI doc is the oppotiste ... clinical and short .. but attentive too and smart. They balance each other out and work together for my health. I'm a lucky gal!
44-single mom diagnosed with Crohn's 2004 via pill camera    6MP kicked into remission (along with modified diet) so went off in 2006.
2009/2010 acute flare and hospitalization - now on Imuran. Currently taking 55 mg prednisone.
Current problem - protruding thrombosed hemorrhoids (external as well as internal).
Fibromyaglia; migraines; herniated disks C5,6 and arthritis in neck; asthma; scolisis in back/arthritis.

It is great that you have a team behind you who are supporting your needs and who complement each other and I believe it is also important to give recognition when someone is good at their job.
Although must say if it had been me with the GP and he had shown sympathy/been nice I would have lost it and bawled my eyes out!

I too think I've found a decent, compassionate GI who is there fighting for me every step of the way. He's willing to go out of his way to help me and has a great bedside manner. Hard to find that combo judging from recent doctors I've had.

champagnekindofgal: 6mp put you into remission so you went OFF it? Was that one of your doctors' recommendations?
