You know when you keep hearing that funny noise when you are driving, you take it to the mechanic, and it doesn't make that noise anymore??
If it's not an emergency, I schedule my Dr appts on Friday because we are slow that day and I can leave work early and start my weekend early.
For the last month, I have been flaring and finally got tired of waiting to see if the Humira was gonna kick in, sucked it up and made an appt to go in and talk to him about either upping the Humira to weekly or changing to something different. Called Monday and made an appt for today. I realized last night, that I have not been having major D all week, a little loose, but tolerable and that the frequency had dropped down from around 10 to around 5 which for me is really good. Wouldn't you know that as soon as I make that appt my body would 'stop making that noise'?
I called and cancelled cuz I know she squeezed me in and would rather have that appt for someone who really needs it. Now watch everything start back up again...
Dx'd w/ Crohn's in 1979 at age 13. Bad flare 2008 but no health insurance so I dealt with it. Colonoscopy in July 2009 caused a perforated colon, emergency bowel resection. 2 fistula's, perianal and perivaginal.
Humira, probiotic, a multivitamin, calcium, magnesium, zinc, and fish oil. I also take Tramadol 50 mg and Klonopin (for anxiety) as needed.
Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we are here we might as well dance!
