Right when I thought I have taken every supplement I could they added liquid potassium to my diet today. Anyone use this?
When the nurse called me today she said it doesn't taste good. What do you mix yours with? I guess I have to take it everyday.
They also added a tablet of folic acid as well. Of course it had to be behind the counter so it was a higher dose.

No more, I can't keep up!

I would ask if you can take the Potassium CL 20 Meq ER Tablets instead of the liquid potassium. The tablets are pretty big but you can crush them into apple sauce or something if you can't swallow them. I have had the liquid once but wouldn't even say once it was so gross couldn't even do it. They told me to mix it in apple sauce, yogure, pudding, and it wasn't happening at all. I'd give the tablet a shot.

I've never had to take it, but when my grandmother was on it, she mixed it with OJ. I don't tolerate OJ at all, but I can drink Tang or Sunny Delight without the pulp.
Dx'd w/ Crohn's in 1979 at age 13. Bad flare 2008 but no health insurance so I dealt with it. Colonoscopy in July 2009 caused a perforated colon, emergency bowel resection. 2 fistula's, perianal and perivaginal.

Humira, probiotic, a multivitamin, Glucosamine, D3, calcium, potassium, magnesium, zinc, and fish oil. I also take Tramadol 50 mg and Klonopin (for anxiety) as needed.

I never had the liquid, but I did have to take prescription tablets. I would get the worst stomach ache afterwards no matter what I ate with them. Good luck.

Be vewy vewy caweful. As Elmer Fudd would say. Dont take more than your doc tells you too. An OD of potassium will stop your heart. So says my doc and he monitors mine very closely. I take the tablets and they have no taste. I much prefer bananas but they dont always agree with me. Low potassium really makes you feel bad and you should start feeling better when your levels come up.

nasty nasty nasty! blech... I was told to take the liquid potassium because the tablets are hard on your stomach, and when you're already feeling bad it's not the best thing to do. anyways, I was told to mix mine with a flavored drink. I tried and tried but I couldn't take more than 2 doses of the stuff. So instead I drank a lot of powerade and after tasting liquid potassium I could tell it in every single sports drink. Then I found powerade zero to be the best ever. I can't taste the potassium (unless it's the mountain berry) and it has the smoothest texture. I drink that when I'm having episodes of D to keep my electrolytes and potassium up.
