I'm so irritated right now. I applied for and interviewed for a job a couple weeks ago, and was told that they would call me back, and it would probably be Friday (just this past Friday) before I heard anything. Since I hadn't heard anything, I called and left a message today for the office manager (the person who interviewed me). She didn't even bother to call me back, and had a medical assistant call me and tell me that the job had been filled.

When did people get so rude? If you tell someone you'll call them when you make a decision, you should call them back, not wait until they leave you a message, then have someone else call.

I'm getting so down, I don't see an end in sight. I've been unemployed for 15 months now. It's so depressing. I'm applying for everything I can xray and everything else I see, but I haven't gotten a job yet. I just don't know what else to do.

A few weeks ago I was in the hospital and dodged surgery, and thought maybe the reason I didn't have surgery was because this job interview couldn't have happened and maybe this job was meant to be. Now I just don't understand. I'm having to deal with being partially obstructed (not having a lot of pain, but I'm going a couple days of C then a day of D and I know the obstruction will only get fixed by surgery because it's due to scar tissue) and nothing seems to be getting better.

Sorry I'm rambling, I'm just upset, frustrated, tired of it all. Thanks for listening.

sorry to hear about your husband was out of work recently and he (and I!) had the same complaint about people being so rude - HR people do NOT realize how much applicants need to know what happened to the job. The sad thing in my husband's case is that he KNEW he was getting laid off from his job, and his company was supposed to help him find a job and they STILL did the same thing (not calling him back, he'd find out the job was filled by coworkers after he'd interviewed for the same job, etc.) It really is disheartening.

The only thing I can say is, keep the faith! My husband finally found a job, and you will too. When it's right for you, it'll be there.

Thank you Kelli. Some days are easier than others, today has been especially bad, and I appreciate you taking the time to respond.

I'm trying to make a list every day and accomplish little things, so I don't fall into a slump. I logically know eventually things will turn around, but sometimes it would be nice if you knew when that would be so you could count down the days until things get better. I'm trying not to take things personally, and for me, that's the hardest part. I seem to take it as a personal attack when I'm turned down, and feel like I'm not doing things right. I need to work on that, and also not get my hopes up each time I interview, since right now there are so many candidates for each job.

Thank you again for listening. I really do appreciate it!

good luck in getting a new job!
I am too scared to look for a new job atm as I have taken quite a bit of time off this year due to flare up after flare up, which is not settling down!
HR people are generally inconsiderate with not calling, which isn't fair , there should be s policy that says they have to contact you with a certain amount of time, either by letter or post!!!
