Anyone been diagnosed with insulin resistance? I'm thinking that due to increased carbohydrate intake in my diet I am now having issues with weight gain and increased fasting insuling levels. Any information that you can offer would be helfpul

Prednisone and Entocort can cause issues with insulin. Which meds are you taking?

Some people are sensitive to steroids.  I have steroid induced diabetes.  As long as I stay away from steroids I have pretty good control over my diabetes.  In fact, a couple of weeks ago I was completely taken off my diabetes medicine for the first time in over 3 years.  I started off (while on prednisone) of having to take insulin shots.  Now I'm off everything.

Since I started SCD my fasting glucose is consistently in the 80's-90's, which is unheard of nowadays with the standard american diet. I would recommend going on SCD because it might help with your IBD too.
Crohn's diagnosed 6/08
Organic SCD since 4/09
Remicade from 6/09 to 4/10
Low-dose naltrexone since 7/5/10
Boswellia + Natren's Healthy Trinity probiotic + Cinnamon + Wild Oregano Oil + vitamin D
