i was diagnosed with Crohns Ileitis in April of this year. i'm taking meds and am trying to figure out a better diet for thing i am extremely frustrated with is being physically tired sooo often. no matter how much sleep and rest i get, my legs hurt, i get headaches most days, all i wanna do is SIT DOWN...makes me grumpy, which i hate.
has anything helped anyone else with their fatigue? or is just something to deal with and hopefully overcome in the future..?

Hi EmAitch88 and welcome to Healingwell. Sorry you have to be here though:( As for the fatigue that is something that all of us suffer with from some degree to another. Only thing you really can do is try to rest up as much as you can. Sorry no magic answers. I am actually in remission, but the fatigue is always there anyways. Hugs!

Make sure you tell your doctor about your fatigue so he/she can test you for the right things. I have a b12 deficiency and it makes me extremely tired. anemia (low iron) can make you very tired too.
Good Luck!

Hello, I suffered the same fatigue problem. We tested the thyroid....have taken months to determine the right dosage of med to control this, and I do believe that was a major part of the fatigue problem. I still have it, but I am not near as bad. (I couldn't even get out of bed some days), A blood test you may consider getting. Good luck to you.

I feel like I've had every blood test I can possibly have, and none point to anything that is causing the fatigue besides simply having Crohn's. When I asked my doctor what I could do to help this, he really said there is no magic answer besides resting.

I have a hard time with this. I hate having no energy for anything. Unfortunately nothing has really helped so far. My thyroid levels are all fine and I'm taking B12 (pill). The time before last my iron levels were just fine as well. Though I'm currently waiting more results my dr is checking from a blood draw on Friday. Dr's afraid I'm anemic but I'll know results tomorrow. I wish I had some answer for you, but I haven't found one for myself. Good luck

Sorry about the fatigue, I have Crohn's and joint pains, fatigue, headaches, belly pain and constant loose stools used to be my life until i had a total proctocolectomy back in June 2010. I have non of those symptoms now. It took me six years to get to the point that I couldn't take this disease any more and needed to be bagged. I am pain free, medicine free and back to my old self. I still have the disease though but most of it is gone.
Diagnosed in 2004 with Crohn's disease. Resection in 2009. Have tried almost every medication and nothing has worked. Total proctocolectomy June 16, 2010

I have received the same answer as Aces High. I've had every blood test done, and they all come back normal. No one has any answers for me.

thanks for replying, everyone!! i'm not anemic or B12 deficient..i figured it was just a part of dealing with Crohn's, as my doctor said it could have to do with my body working to fight the disease. my legs and knees get really tired and sore, too..
another thing that i can't figure out is always being soo warm. my doctor said it could be from inflammation....?

i am tired as well. I am anemic, but it varies at times. However, I am always tired. ask my wife she would say i have been tired for over 5 years since the CD really took control of my body. I actually spoke to my GI nurse today. she said my anemic condition was steady which was good in that it had not gotten worse in the past few weeks. I asked about the tired thing and she said, it comes with the CD. every patient they have with CD complains of being tired.
