I have been finding it really hard to get out of bed lately - whether I am feeling like I am flaring or not. I am not really a morning person and I have had sleep issues in the past. I was just wondering if some of my fellow chronies out there have the same trouble. The fatigue is pretty terrible at least in the morning...

Lately I have been flaring a little - not horrible, but I have noticed my energy levles decline more with the pain and D returning.

I have alot of fatigue myself and I am in remission. But whats wierd for me, is I am okay in the mornings, its later in the day, say after noon that the fatigue hits me really hard. I try to make every effort to go to bed early and to try to get at least 7-8 hours of sleep a night. Also, almost everyday after I get off work and get home, I take a nap before I go to bed. At least thats what my hubby calls it:) Have you had your B12 levels or had your iron levels checked lately? That might be something to look into. Hugs!

I am really proactive when it comes to my B12, Iron, and VitD. Still no success. I have had trouble with insomnia in the past, partly brought on by sleep anxiety (that I might have a D attack at night) but I think I am over that and I get as much sleep as I can.

It is the waking part that is very tough. My body feel heavy, I feel lethargic - and if I allow myself to I will sleep late (really late), which would be fine if I didn't have to get my butt to work in the morning.

I can't take naps or I will never fall asleep a night... I have a really touchy sleep cycle. There are a lot of times when I think a nap would be nice, but I know that it will be 2-3am before I can fall asleep at night if I do take that nap.

My situation sounds similar to Nanners' situation, except that lately, I feel so tired when I wake up, too.  I am normally a morning person, but when I've been waking up for work, I feel like I haven't slept much, even though I normally get 9 hrs/night.  It gets a little better once I get up and gets the joints moving, but then it starts to get worse again as the day progresses.  I'm so tired after work that I often take a nap and then go to bed a couple of hours later for 9 hrs.

My last blood work was fine, as far as I know, and I've never had problems with B12 or iron before (except after prepping for a colonoscopy - iron was low).  My Crohn's is in remission as well, but the arthritis is very bad right now.  My rheumy reduced my work schedule for 2 months (which is over after next week), but I'm still working a few full days each week and those days wear me out.  I wish I had an answer for you but I don't...but you aren't alone.

Thanks you two... I feel like I am lazy, even after dealing with this disease for years. I know there isn't much I can do to fight it beyond what I am already doing. I have been trying to get some exercise when I can and getting some sun seems to help a little.

God help me to find the energy I need to get me through the day... or at least out of bed.
