Mine was similar to Nanners - expecting one surgery, ended up with a different surgery. My surgeon told me I essentially had two resections but the recovery seemed to be the same. He ended up making one incision (in addition to the 3 laproscopic incisions he made initially) and did both from that. So really, "my" recovery was the same regardless because you don't feel the incisions healing in your colon.
He took out as little as he could and kinda hooked it all back together. My GI has since done a colonoscopy and could see where the two resections were done.
It's kinda cool, if you think about it.
