I know in the great scheme of things I'm not that bad and there are a lot of people with a lot worse things to complain about
I have got to the point where I am struggling. I had about 30cm of small bowel removed on 13th Sept and was discharged from hospital 6 days later, great. Twelve days later I am back in with a pelvic infection, another week in hospital and a very uncomfortable drain fitted plus bombardment of antibiotics.Four days after being discharged I had a CT which was clear and the drain was (ouch) removed. Great I thought I can start the recovery process. Wrong, two days later I am back in hospital with chest pains. Once they ruled out a heart attack they thought I had a blood clot which they treated me for. I have never felt so ill in all my life, my heart rate was through the roof but blood pressure in my boots. Anyway after lots of tests they found I had inflamation of the fluid around my heart - not a life threatening amount and no treatment except rest and anti inflamatories (which the gastro guys said I cannot take) and will take about 4 weeks to clear up. So here I am at home again, everything I do wipes me out (taking a shower is like a marathon) and everything I eat is still rushing through almost as quick as I eat it. I feel so low in myself and just cannot imagine ever feeling well again and today I am really tearful -stupid.
Sorry to be so negative but can't see past it at the moment, if anyone has been through similar please tell me this will improve - I am desperate for support and hugs. Family are very good but they have no idea how stressful, scarey and painful this whole thing has been.
