Hi and Happy Holidays to all of you in case I don't get a chance later.

When I was hospitalized for my C. diff colitis in October, my body decided at that time to show its age. My bladder and intestines prolapsed via my vagina and my rectum tried to follow along. Having a BM is very difficult as parts are blocking the exit. I also cannot urinate when I want, and urinate when I don't plan to. I need to have a pelvic floor reconstruction. All the parts are going to be put back into place and held up with mesh.

My SI joints are so inflamed that all the doctors fear they will never get me upright after four hours in stirrups on the operative table. I am getting the SI joints injected at the hospital this Friday. Then next week I'm having a cystoscopy [scope of the bladder] to find out why a CT showed air in my bladder. The GI thinks I may have a fistula to my bladder. If anything is found then another repair will be added to the planned surgery. Also have to see the ophthalmologist to check my vitreous detachment progress. Also having two fillings done at the dentist. I will have finished up my 2 weeks of Xifaxan to treat the C. diff on Friday. Hopefully it is gone because I will be getting IV antibiotics when in the hospital and a recurrence would not be good.

Surgery is on the 14th. The surgeon said he normally has patients in the hospital for 4 days. He did promise that if I behaved I might get out in two. I will check in with you all when I return.

I will be here periodically until surgery day but probably not everyday. Besides all the medical appts, I need to get my holiday shopping completed before surgery day. Be of good health everyone!

I hope everything goes smoothly. I'll be thinking of you and keeping my fingers crossed for you. Post when you can to let us know how you're doing.

Good luck, and ((((hugs)))) to you, Ides. I hope things go smoothly and everything is properly fixed once surgery is over. I can only imagine what you're dealing with now... I'm actually shocked you're having to wait a couple weeks for surgery. I scheduled gallbladder surgery only 2 days after having a surgery consult. (though maybe you're not in the US and things are SO different in different areas)

Please come back and let us know how things are going when you can!

Well, I have to say, when you decide to do things you certainly decide to do them up brown, Ides!!! Whew! That's a lotta reconstruction gonna be going on!! Shucks, then you're gonna be good as new. Now - if they could just come up w/something as effective for the SI joints, eh? Goshes, are we even gonna recognize you??? Hey, I know hospitals are no fun but don't be pushing to get outta there too soon. Give yourself some time to heal both in hospital and at home!! (((hugs)))
