YIKES!

It is awful for me. I can't get it all down. It has been 1 and 1/2 hours since I started and not all is in my belly.

I called the Doc on call and left a message. I am praying he is nice and will call in an RX for some kind of pills.

I have tried everything.... it is cold, drink thru straw, chase with other liquid, suck on candy.

I don't see how I could even finish and can't bear the thought of doing it again in a few hours!

Oh I feel your pain. Did a prep about a month ago and felt like you. I ended up doing only half, but the report on the
scope said prep was good, which meant I was clean. Thinking of you!!

Prepping is the worst. I also only did half (I had Golightly) and luckily at that point I was going clear. Just hope and pray you won't need to take the entire thing in order to clean yourself out. Good luck!

I just did that prep a few weeks ago and it does taste terrible. The only way I was able to get it down was by mixing it with apple juice. The strong flavor of the apple juice was strong enough to hide that awful flavor that they put in moviprep.

thanks!

Doc said to get over the counter dulcolax and Citrate of Magnesia

the Citrate of Magnesia is awful tasting as well.

However, mostly liquid is coming out. I might be prep'ed enough.

Gosh I hope so!!!!

My gastroenterologist explained that you should listen to your body; as a Crohnnie, you'll probably know when you've had enough and when your system is clear. He defines a clear system as one where what shows up in the toilet is either clear or green liquid--or even clear or green liquid with some sludge on the bottom. (Which is often what I have even when I'm not doing a colonoscopy prep.) He told me that I could definitely skip the pills and only drink enough of the liquid prep to get me to the situation you're already in. In the past, with other doctors, I've only drunk half of the liquid and skipped the pills--and nobody's ever complained. So I think you're done. Ugh!

nawlinscate, you made me so happy!

I think I am all clear. I have taken a little over half the first container of movi prep....
now I took dulcolax and I am sipping the Citrate of Magnesia mixed with some strong lemonade. It is real sour but I can tolerate it.

I am not quite sure if I am all clear yet but the dulcolax and the Citrate of Magnesia should take care of the rest.

I talked to the Doc on call and he was rude and sounded irritated. He said there is not many other options. I know that is not true.

Do the Doc's get a bonus if you can swallow the stupid preps that make you sick? I used the same doc office 3-4 years ago and was given fleet.

Besides being hungry, you're probably also awake because you'll have to make a bunch more trips to the bathroom before morning. If you had half of your Moviprep, Dulcolax, and Citrate of Magnesia, you'll definitely be all emptied out for your procedure. Hope you're ok--before, during, and after!

Thanks everyone!!!

I was very empty!!!

I also was AWAKE, I hated it. They decided to give a different med where I am sleepy and relaxed. It was not fun. I like being knocked out.

Plus the nurses were talking about food. how rude. I was hungry :0

I hate it when they do that! Someone mentioned that in another post...how people forget and talk about food in front of patients who have done a prep and haven't eaten in over a day. As I recall, they said they once asked (nicely) if the nurses could not talk about food in front of them.

I'd rather be knocked out completely also! Why experience any of that when it can be avoided?

Did your dr tell you how things looked? I hope it was good news for you!

I hate hate hate being awake for a colonoscopy! I've only been awake for one of them, but it was no fun at all, and it hurt like crazy when they attempted to go higher than they should have. I hope they're going to knock me out for my next one, in January.

Any word on the results? I hope everything went well for you. And aren't you glad it's over?!
