My gastro pushes for a colonoscopy ever year. She insists that anyone who has had Crohn's disease 10 years or more should have an annual scope. I usually manage to drag them out to a colonoscopy every 2 years.
My first colonoscopy I used NuLytely. I told my gastro NEVER again! I've always preferred PhosphoSoda or Magnesium Citrate. Now they've taken PS away from us and my gastro's NP says that Mag Cit poses the same risks (I'm not sure that I believe her). Anyway, my last scope my gastro convinced me to try Half-Lytely and two Dulcolax tabs. Surprisingly that worked well! But then she also suggestd that I spread the timing out a bit as far as how much I had to get down over how short a period of time. So - half the amount of sewer water over twice the length of time made the prep MUCH more bearable. Altho, of course, I cussed my gastro out under my breath during the entire prep.
Personally, altho COLD is recommended to reduce the foul taste, I've found COLD just makes me MORE nauseous plus I get chilled to the bone. So I am more "comfortable" using a cool prep than a COLD prep. Plus there is the straw to the back of the mouth to drink the sewer water that is supposed to reduce the foul taste.
My computer says I need to upgrade my brain to be compatible with its new software.
