Hi Carl, and welcome to this wonderful site!
You are not alone in this! Many of us have to deal with Doctors, friends and loved ones every day who don't and/or can't understand what we are going through. In my own experience, my family is sympathetic for a day or two, and then expect me to get right back out there, doing what I'm supposed to do... going to work, cleaning, cooking, etc. It's tough to do when you are in pain, feel like crap, and just want to lay in bed. I try to do what I can, but I know it isn't always enough.
I hope the remicade works for you and hopefully you start seeing some relief soon! We are here to answer any questions or just to vent too. We have all, in some form or another, been there. Hope you feel better soon!
Dx'd w/ Crohn's in 1979 at age 13. Bad flare 2008 but no health insurance so I dealt with it. Colonoscopy in July 2009 caused a perforated colon, emergency bowel resection. 2 fistula's, perianal and perivaginal.
Humira, probiotic, a multivitamin, Glucosamine, D3, calcium, potassium, magnesium, zinc, and fish oil. I also take Tramadol 50 mg and Klonopin (for anxiety) as needed.Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we are here we might as well dance!
