Pred is a mixed bag. If this is staph, pred can make it worse. If the staph is in check but if this is inflammation, then pred can help. So I understand your qualms.
My own daughter suffered a relapse into a bacterial skin infection as soon as she started Entocort a couple of months ago. True, her immune system was down after going off LDN and getting a bad cold, but I'm sure the Entocort was the final blow to recovery from the skin infection. Worse, the skin infection is a bad bug, so I'm praying the topical Gentamycin gets rid of it, because she can't tolerate Cipro or Levaquin (serum reaction). To improve her chances of recovery, she has tapered down to one pill of Entocort.
