tsitodawg, it's thyroid cancer. Luckily, it's one of the cancers with a better prognosis. I had my thyroid completely removed and underwent radiation. I kicked the cancer's butt :)
There's warning labels on absolutely everything these days...it doesn't make sense not to follow them! But really, everything has risks and we all make decisions that involve risk factors. Just be aware of what those risks are!
I was on 6MP for about a year and then I was on 6MP and Remicade at the same time. I've had some doctors tell me that the cancer may have been caused by the 6MP as well. So many unknowns. Right now I'm on Prednisone but that's the most doctors are really allowing me to be on because of the cancer diagnosis. Unfortunately, my Crohn's is not being controlled and I'm going through some serious rough patches. I just have to wait a while until doctors feel ok with allowing me on a biologic.
