Anyone else gotten psorasis from Remicade!?!

Remicade has been wonderful for me since starting it in December 2009. about six weeks ago I started having a horrible painful rash on my hands. Finally went to the Dermatologist because it wouldn't go away. Turns out it is psorasis brought on from the Remicade. Well the treatment hasn't worked. I have been doing light treatments and using prescription cream. At my follow up yesterday the Dermatologist said she wanted to try methotrexate and if it doesn't work I need to think about coming off the Remicade :( I hate to do that since it works so well for me. Anyone else had this problem? Thanks :)

I started having red, itchy, dry patches on my arms and legs after taking Remicade a few times. It wasn't helping my Crohns much so I stopped the Remicade and skin problems went away.

All of the anti-TNF meds [Remicade, Humira, Enbrel, etc] have been reported to cause skin lesions in some people.

I am sorry this has happened to you when Remicade has worked so well for you.

I got psoriasis from Humira. I had to stop it because I couldn't keep taking something that was causing such a bad reaction. I hope that you won't have to stop the remicade, but if you do, I hope you find a good med that works for you. Remicade never caused psoriasis for me, so maybe if remicade causes it for you - one of the other biologics won't?

I am similar to Stef17, I was on Remicade for several years and didn't have any problems, no psoriasis. But I did get psoriasis and a couple other problems from Humira. I know it is a side effect of all TNFs but it is interesting to learn on here how some people have issues with Remicade, but no problems on Humira and others do great on Remicade and have issues with Humira.

If you have to stop the Remicade maybe you will tolerate Humira better. The one thing that is nice about Humira is convenience, doing a shot every couple weeks at home was nice after going for Remicade at the hospital for years.

Daughter developed psoriasis after several Remicade treatments, hair started falling out; but she continues with it... rash a little better, hair is improving some.... :/

I started Remicade right before I started getting psoriasis. A few years ago my psoriasis got really bad, and now it's happening again. I've tried every drug for my Crohns and Remicade is the only one that worked... But, Remciade is the only one that i've taken and i've had psoriasis with. I just called my doctor after trying to find other people with the same problem. I'm done with this drug. I hope i'll be okay without it crohn's wise. I've been in remission since i've taken it, but I just can't deal with this disgusting and depressing psoriasis any more. Nothing is working so it must be the Remicade. I'm tired of feeling disgusting and losing my hair.
