been reading Linns posts and wondering if those of you on LDN are less tired?

By less tired I mean close to normal energy levels.

I know normal is an emmotive word but basically I mean just able to get through a working day and not fall asleep watching the six oc clock news too tired to cook the evening meal ;)

My daughter was tired only the first couple of weeks after starting LDN, as her body adjusted to the med. But after that break-in period, she was fine.

In fact, her energy levels have always been well, with or without LDN, since her Crohn's is under control with diet and some kind of med all the time. So we didn't see any significant before or after effect of LDN on energy.

I am better all over due to less tiredness. But I still have days when I am really fatiqued. Have used LDN for almost 4 years. I am not sure though if my tiredness all come from Crohns. I am afraid some of my fatique is due to my renal cell cancer. (kidneys)

Kiwi, thanks for the nice words, but I feel I maybe was a bit dramatic when writing that, so I have to adjust myself ;-) Having this cancer story may lead to feeling very tired during a day or two now and then, even though I have had the surgery and got rid of the tumor the same month I got my Crohns diagnose in 07. I am happy though that the renal cell cancer never have flared, and sometimes it happens that I am wondering if LDN may be strengthens my immune system so much that this won't happen as long as I am using it.

I know quite a few people that was given up by the doctors due to cancer, all of them has written their story at the LDN database site. One of them, a woman had cervix cancer with methastatic tumors in her lungs, they gave her some months and pallative treatment, she started LDN and they have found her tumors have shrinked each year. I am so fascinated by this little pill, what it may be able to do with our immune system. People are combining it with ordinary treatments like chemo and radiation. Some of us are lucky having innovative doctors.

Just read about Crohns and LDN, or other diseases and LDN at

Hey BeeSting, just wanted to let you know I had experience with a cancerous kidney tumor myself. My surgery was done via lap, but I tell you that surgery really kicked my butt. So I feel you on that one. Hugs!

Thanks again bee sting :) really interesting stuff and I can see why you find this little pill so fascinating.

I have an appointment with my specialist next week so will be raising LDN with him. Annoyingly I am having my first flare for twelve months which I suspect has been brought on by the stress of living in a city that is constantly shaking with earthquakes (Christchurch New Zealand)!

No wonder you're heavy stressed, this stress that you're having is what the doctors categorize as beeing at a traumatic level, isn't it? I am quite convinced that this kind of stress could be one of the reasons this disease was activated in the first place.

I would like to add a suggestion for you: arm yourself with good info on LDN to bring to your doctor, but don't overload him / her, you'll risk that your doctor may lose the attention. Give him some papers to read, and make another appointment after he has read it. Your doctor don't want to write a script of a medicine that is unknown for him. /Wish you the best of luck! :-)

Nanners; This was new to me, then we are two person at hw having this type of cancer experience. My surgery was done in the traditional way, because they did a partial nefrectomy, means they took out just the diseased area, som I am still having 3/4 of my kidney left. Hope you're doing well, Nanners, wish you the best of health! :-)

Thanks again for the advise bee sting. I will go well armed with information and I am lucky as he is well used to that. He was giving me a chance post resection to se if I ould control with diet and it was going VERY well even after the first big earthquake in Sept last year. The big one we had Feb 22nd was another matter and some of the subsequent aftershocks have been practically under out house - whilst grateful to be alive we are kind of over it all to be honest ;) My next step was the biologics so it is nice to be able to suggest an alternative this time.

Thanks again for the pointers.
