It started out looking like a blood blister (perianal region) but doc said it wasn't. Shrunk while on Flagyl, but never went away completely. Now bleeds occasionally, and I recently noticed that when it bleeds, there's also blood coming out somewhere right inside... Going in to see my surgeon next week, as there's only mild discomfort so far. This is on the same site where, in Sept/2009 I had an abscess that was lanced at the ER (HORROR story, that was) and then fixed by my surgeon in April/2010, but has never completely healed all the way.

Has anyone had a fistula that's only a couple inches long from end to end, and that close to the anus on both sides? And, is not-healing a common thing with Crohn's?

To answer your healing question..

My col/rectal surgeon made sure understood that everyone is different and you may heal right up while others take years to heal, or your abscess may never completely heal. But that doesn't mean you can't have a "normal" life and do what you please. He also he said because this is a Crohn's issue and since there is no cure for Crohn's he said that is why he may not be able to "cure" but the said he could still give me a quality of life.

I hope that makes sense, and I wish you luck!
