So I am going on my third week of being sick. It started with pain in my colon, nausea, and very watery D. I took myself of my Glucophage thinking this was the cause. I then got worse. Last week I saw my GI and he ran blood test but he thinks it is a virus. My inflammation markers were up and my white blood count was high. Everything else showed normal....or what is normal for me. He put me on Flagyl which I knew I wouldn't react well to.
Last Friday I went home early from work. I was so out of it and a little dizzy. Couldn't stop going to the bathroom and even vomited a little. Called my GI and he told me to stop the Flagyl. Stayed home all weekend and I am feeling a little better. Instead of going to the bathroom 30 times it is down to maybe 5-10 times but it is still very watery. My pain has subsided but I still get it every now and then. I also noticed on Friday that I get a lot of pain right after I eat.
As far as eating...I haven't been doing much of that. Some toast and honey in the morning, Turkey sandwhich on toast for lunch and dinner. I had tried previously some steamed chicken and rice but I couldn't eat much of it.
I still don't know what to make of all this. It seems like a really bad flare to me. GI thinks it is a virus. Endocronologist couldn't care less about it.
Has anyone experieneced anything like this for this long? I am on my third week now and I have never had a virus for this long. It worries me that my GI doesn't think it is the Crohn's (he is a very good dr that I have full faith in). I am at my ends here and don't know what to do at this point. Any advice would really be great.
