I had my CT a week ago and spoke to my GI by phone last night. Apparently all the right side pain I'm feeling is not due to active disease but instead....I'm full of crap. No kidding! I've been complaining about
slow bowels for years, so I guess this is just it. Slow slow slow gut, till it fills up and causes pain in the upper right quadrant - evacuate, rinse, repeat. ugh.
My GI suggested milk of magnesia, miralax (which I know Nanners relies on daily, probably others) or dulcolax. A friend of mine who's a doctor (physiatrist) and treats folks with MS recommended sennakote to increase motility. Frankly I do not want to add another pill to my box, but I'll have to get over myself. Any recommendations for senna over magnesia or miralaz?
I also got an all-clear from the ENT to restart Pentasa. The tinnitus persists, although at a lower volume, and my hearing checked out as normal, so no worries there. Pentasa, my friend, maybe you'll help move my gut along?
I've been gluten free now for 2 months and I'm hopeful that some of the motility issues will resolve the longer I stay away from gluten. I guess time will tell. I've heard that for some people, full relief isn't achieved until they've been gluten free for many months, maybe a year.
