It took a while but I have worked out a direct correlation between flares and 'housework'.
Since I sorted my diet it was frustrating to still get flares that required hospitalisation and IV drugs to settle.
Looking at each event we realised certain kinds of housework or heavy lifting immediately preceeded each one.
It seems that certain tasks either kink or otherwise obstruct my guts. Now on the banned list are:
*lifting anything heavier than a medium weight grocery bag ie doing my shopping AND my mums = hopsital
*moving heavy furniture ie reorganising the lounge = hospital
*'normal' vacuming but for extended periods of time ie one room OK whole house = hospital
*cleaning windows ie one window OK whole house = hospital
*hand sanding cedar front door
*scrubbing limescale off glass shower (last weeks hospitalisation)
*digging the garden and pulling weeds ie 15 mins weeding OK 1/2 hour weeding plus digging = hospital
* shovelling snow ... aint gonna happen ;P
It has taken a while but I now accept I am not able to physically do all the things I have done in the past without repercussions.
Frustrating YES but a helpful piece of my own crohns puzzle which I hope will help reduce my hospitalisations.
My motto now is 'most things in moderation within my limitations'
