I was diagnosed with Crohn's in 2008 and I know I have had it a lot longer but I was stupid and stubborn and never went to the Doctor until the pain, vomitting, diarrhea, weight loss, and dehydration was so severe I finally had to get help.
Working in a pharmacy I saw someone who was diagnosed and when I heard what she was going through I thought "this is me" but I never went in to get it checked until May 2008. Anyway, I had a bowel resection in September 2008 and since then I have only been on Remicade infusions, calcium, vit. D, fosamax, and iron when it is low. I am so glad I found this forum.....it is nice to see I am not alone.
I do wonder at times if I am starting to have a flare again but with part of my illum removed it is hard to tell. I never see blood in my loose stools (except right after surgery) but when I have a solid stool sometimes I see blood in it. Sometimes I have cramping right before I need to go to the bathroom and after I "go" I am fine again...usually it is very loose. There are times when I do have a solid stool. How do I know if I am truely having a flareup to call my Doctor or will they tell me when they get bloodwork back from my Remicade infusions every seven weeks? Could people here tell me what kinds of symptoms they experience so I can compare to myself. Thank you.
