Wow, so sorry to hear about
your fistula and the procedure failing.
I have a r/v fistula that developed in Sept/Oct 2010, before I was diagnosed with Crohn's. I was finally able to see a colo-rectal surgeon in October 2011 and had an exam under anesthesia this month. I found out yesterday that he is going to perform the flap procedure on me despite the Crohn's. He says my Crohn's is mild and he's willing to take the chance. I really hope it works because I too want my life back!
My fistula is very low, and he says it is a V shape, bigger in the r and narrowing toward the v. I have been living with constant discharge (sometimes causing UTIs), sometimes rashes and pressure, and no intimacy to speak of. I am hopeful that this procedure will work.
I wish you luck!
