Try taking papaya enzymes after each meal. They help digestion and really help my acid reflux. I have gastritis and when that flares so does the acid reflux. You could get a script for acid reducer from your dr as well. The papaya enzymes work a lot better for me than the acid reducers.

Sounds like GERD or acid reflux to me. I am sure you are already being careful, but make sure you do not eat about 3 hours before you go to bed, that can cause the the phlemy stuff. Hope your tests shows more. Hugs!

What meds are you on, Remicade? Do you have a white tongue?, sounds like what I had, think it was oral thrush that moved down throat, of course it was mostly self diagnosed since nobody can give you the time of day unless you are about to drop dead. I had been on swish nystatin, but got a script for diflucan and I think that took care of it. It has only been a week though.

For me, this is GERD, too. I have NERD(nonerrosive esphageal reflux disease) , so you won't have ulcers but excessive reflux that necessitate a double dose of Nexium, 80 mg. You may also need an anti-ulcer drug to relieve the throat pain.
A piece of advice: get an immediate medical assistance as GERD is curable at the beginning but becomes incurable after years elapse and this is my case.
Take care!
