A real tragedy. I grew up listeing to this guy's music..... But a question from above article. It mentions that he died from Crohn's complications. How is a subarachnoid hemorrhage related to Crohn's?

It has nothing to do with Crohns. Usually the result of a brain aneurism (burst blood vessel,) and is highly unpredictable.
Good old reporters putting two and two together and getting five.

If you read some of the articles it states he had issues with treatment for his CD there is a 0.10% chance of that hemorrhage on Remi and 0.07% chance on Humira and even lower incidence the longer you are on it and if you are a man from studies

Was he on Remi? Are you talking about hemorrhage in general, or brain hemorrhage - big difference.

I do now know what treatment he was on but the article I read said that he had complications with his CD treatment but the biologics do have a very rare potential for the type of hemorrhage he suffered from which in turn caused his coma and passing

Just looked up some info it didnt specify what meds he was on but it said unknown to him the meds were damaging his liver

"Mark has been dealing with Crohn's disease for over 30 years, over that time he has taken several medications to help him through this horrible disease.

Not knowing that he was damaging his liver for all those years, when Mark had the Subarachnoid Hemorrhage and because of the damage to his liver has made many critical complications "

That's interesting, thanks. Highly speculative that it was any of his crohns meds that had 'unknowingly' caused liver damage, that then complicated the brain aneurism that likely caused the bleeding! Alcohol and smoking are far more likely causes.

It bugs me when they draw such a long bow. It unnecessarily concerns people I think.

@ambling - exactly. ridiculous journalism. Though a rock star life style and alcohol may go hand in hand. Or maybe he was healthy, who knows

it definitly is too hard to say one way or another what may or may not have contributed either way still stinks and makes you wonder I know at times they have had to switch my meds due to liver issues and leukopenia etc then go back on them at a later date...scary stuff

so as i read this, this man might have been on remicade and it caused this hemorrhage and he died...if so, the chance of this is very slim and there might have been other factors which incidentally led to this...i have had crohns disease since age 11 and i'm now 28...i take remicade...make sure your doctor is taking the necessary testing each time to make sure the remicade is helping you not hurting you...but i would like to know more as i suffer with this disease which is sadly uncurable

Mark was as healthy as could be. No illegal drugs, no alcohol. When his health allowed, he loved to run. His passion was his music. While on tour he would be in pain, but he'd push through it during a performance, and stay as long as he could handle it to speak to fans. Having the opportunity to work and tour with him, I just wanted to clear up that point some of you might be speculating on. Mark was one of the few exceptions to the so-called rock lifestyle. You might actually be surprised at how many artists in this genre of music are health conscious. But that's not what makes press or sales nowadays is it? That's all I have to say on the matter. Shine on, Riot fans.
