For the last 24 hours I have had the worst gas pains I have ever had.
I can feel it running from my stomach to my colon and it HURTS I feel like I ate razor blades for dinner.

The thing is I am totally clueless how to handle this.
I dont want to bother my GI during the weekend and a trip to the ER just seems so timeconsuming.

All advice would be greatly appreciated.

I am also 12w pregnant with twins.

Are you absolutely sure it is gas pain? If not you should call your doctor...your pregnancy is too important! Activated charcoal tabs sometimes help but they can interfere with absorption of other meds, and I don't know about its safety in pregnancy. Sometimes going for a walk helps me, or pulling my knees up to my chest or stretching. chamomile tea, and heating pads, lying on your left side, etc. I hate gas pains, and sometimes nothing works and I just have to wait it out for hours! Pleas call the doctor if you have any doubts. I hope this helps.

Heating pads are my best friends on those days! Can you take something like Maalox or Mylanta? Those might ease it some too. Hugs!

Get on your knees and stick your butt up in the air. Kind of like an extreme prayer position. As long as your torso is low to the ground (or bed or couch or whatever) and your rump is up high, the gas will move and you'll be able to get it out. Trust me on this one. It might take a minute or two to get it moving, but it'll move.

Feel better. And congrats on the twins! Holy cow!

Not just butt in the air but also then stretching out on left side, left leg and arm straight out above and below, right arm and leg currled up and then rolling to right side and vice versa before back to the butt in the air. That gets the gas moving thru.

I'm not sure that w/a pregnancy this would be effective but ... another thing that always helped me was just taking my fingers and "walking" them along my gut following the path of the gas bulges and encouraging them to move on thru down and out. I refer to this and "let your fingers do the walking".

Often my "gas" was the result of bacterial overgrowth and an antibiotic would help. But what is safe to use during pregnancy .......

I'm currently just coming out of symptomatic remission and I have this little gnome "friend" (I call him a guh-no-mee just for the fun of it) that likes to run thru my gut w/a razor blade. Sometimes the little stinker likes to trade his razor blade in for a sword or even a battle axe so as soon as he starts running thru w/his trusty razor blade I jump on him w/a med increase and behaving myself w/what I choose to eat. Even if it means a pureed diet. Ugh!
