I was dx'd with Crohn's in 1995. I had my first small bowel resection in 2001. It was an
open surgery and recovery time was a long-about
8 weeks. I've had flares since 2001, but they were able to be addressed with Entocort.
During a flare last year, I had a colonoscopy and it revealed stricturing and stenosis. My GI started me in Humira to see if it would addresses these issues. I also wanted to see if I could avoid a surgery as I wasn't having a lot of pain, any nausea, or vomiting. Fast Forward a year and testing last week showed that the narrowing is still there and has had no improvement. This time, unlike last year, I am experiencing a lot of pain and discomfort and am ready to discuss surgery.
