My cousin has been on predisone and pentassa since Jan 1 for a massive inflammation in the illium. He does not have a computer, so I am asking these questions for him. He has tapered the steriod down to 20mg without any pain or any other symptoms. On this last tuesday the GI said to go down to 17.5mg, so yesterday that is what he did, and last night he had excruciating pain in the illium for the first time since Jan.
Could just a reduction of 2.5 mg in one day cause pain to return so quickly? Or is it more probably due to something he ate last night the more likely culprit?
He has been following the SCD diet since Jan and last night he had deep fried codfish sticks battered in almond flour and fried in olive oil, acorn squash, and avacado. This is the first time for fried fish, usally he bakes his fish.
