oh guys! I am so happy I'm crying!
just saw the new GP and he IS good! He is sending off a poo test for faecal calprotectin (he said it's a new test here that's shows markers for crohns?) Also referred me to a good specialist he knows requesting a colonoscopy AND small bowel follow through/pillcam (we DO have one here :-D). He agrees that my symptoms are more indicative of Crohns than IBS, well, the flare ups anyway.. he also told me as I have read in here that you can have both..
He told me that the other doctor was "not quite right" and Crohns can be a very sneaky and insidious disease that can have VERY unusual presentations
He has another patient who had an unusual presentation. He said that normally if you get crohns in the small bowel it will show at the terminal ileum (he also said that he loved that I'd read up!) but it's not unheard of for it to not show there but still be present in the small bowel only.
He said all my blood tests hadn't shown any inflammation but he said that's a guide only not a yes or no answer to whether there is inflammation there.
open to researching it. In fact he had already spoken with the specialist and I'm to start having a teaspoon of epsom salts in water/juice per day.. apparently it's a REALLY old remedy but that recent research has shown that it works.. they don't know why yet but it does
