I love my family...and having a crohnic illness isn't easy especially for the family that has to live with someone who has CP. I really wonder who as it worse. The sick or the ones who watch the sickness. I've had Crohns for 7 years now....

Just latley I feel like my family has all of a sudden just forgotten or denying I'm ill. They are done! They have decided to move on! They don't want to hear about it anymore and I have to deal with it everyday and it's not going away...ever!

They watch what I eat and correct me in public which is embarassing. Not only do I have Crohns but Diabetes type 2 so my diet changes daily...everyday brings a different type of diet for me. There are days I just want to cry because I can't seem to absorb much in nutrition...and I feel starving! They'll correct me while they are eating and enjoying steak! I try not to get jealous... but I really am.

Just the other day I told them I couldn't go to something because there wasn't a bathroom. Once again, well you can wait we'll bring you home (no...i can't) I cannot hold..I have much urgency not to mention how cool it is to about fall over in public from pain.  I've had accidents and don't care to have others in pubic. I feel like they get angry with me but they are things I can't change and their support seems to be dwindling... Do other families go through this?

Just feel lost. I've lost my health, job and now my family just does so much without me....It's lonely.

I agree sometimes this disease can be very lonely and then you tend to isolate yourself at times because of bathrooms or not feeling well .. normal people just don't go through what we have to go through every day of our life ... The bathroom is always on my mind 24/7 . I find most of my support through online support groups and some even have online video's talking about CD and I find these really comforting knowing I am not the only one ..
Yes my family gets sick of hearing me talk about my disease or medication or bathroom issues .. so half the time I maybe don't even say anything if I am not feeling well I just go lay down so maybe they wonder why is she laying down but I just like to keep to myself anyway especially when I don't feel good so there I go isolating myself .. We can't just take a pill and make everything feel better

I don't know if I am helping any here .. but just know that you are not alone there are lots of us out here and we just need to support eachother .. keep your chin up and take care

I agree too. It can be really lonely. I have crohns and my mom has asthma that turned into copd. she's on oxygen now, cant get around and her health has been tentative my whole life. My father didn't want to have anything complicating his life and basicly left. Now I have Crohns to complicate the whole mess and it is so hard because now I am sick and my mother and I have always been support for each other but it is hard to be supportive when you are not well either. Its hard to go out when you feel sick and no one quite gets it. Luckily I have a few friends that will listen.
I dont know whether this really helped either but to agree with dreamysky's comment.

I think it's very hard for some people (usually ppl close to us) to have ongoing empathy. It's unfortunate for us, but no matter what, we have to be strong for ourselves, and surround ourselves with the people who are willing to support, listen, provide a shoulder, etc. There are many online groups and forums, here, on facebook, etc., and also community support groups for chronic illness, IBD, etc.

I think your all right! I need to get into some type of support group. I come here to chat and read the forum which has helped... I think I need more of a face to face. Just seems hard to get out of the house. Need to make a better effort. Thanks for replying and listening.
