What I want to understand, Minnie, is why you would increase your Pentasa oral meds to treat proctitis. I think you increased your Pentasa because of abdominal pain? Because you know the oral Pentasa is not treating the proctitis. I'm not your DR but I've seen enough of your posts to remember that oral Pentasa gives you gastritis. Perhaps another oral mesalamine would be better for you, one that doesn't dissolve so quickly in the GI tract, like Asacol or Lialda.
49 yrs old, IBD diagnosis in spring '01. Proctitis, gastritis, ileitis.
Colazal (9 pills/day), Sulfazine (1.5 g/day),
, folic acid, vit. D (2K iu), flax seed oil (2 tsp/day), mesalamine enema as needed. Gluten free as of 5/30/11.
