Hi, So I'm just wondering if anyone has ever had a mass in their colon that was NOT cancer?
I have Crohn's, have had it for 22 years. Ran out of medication options and in a drug study now. Keep telling me that surgery isn't really an option for me (coming from the drug study doctor).
Been really sick the last few months, so they did a CT to see what's up, and they "thought" they saw a mass, so had a sigmoidoscopy (sp?) yesterday which confirmed the presence of a mass. They took many biopsies. 3 doctors were in the room and all were scratching their heads about what it is. They showed a picture to another doc in the endoscopy unit, and she had no idea either. They are now booking a scope that uses ultra sound, and we are waiting for the biopsy. Needless to say that I'm scared crapless (pardon the pun), but wondering how often Crohn's patients develop non-cancerous tumours in the bowel. Thoughts?
