I am 24 and was just diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. I was diagnosed with Polycystic Kidney Disease at the beginning of the year at 23 and Crohn's Disease when I was 16 having my right ovary, right fallopian tube, appendix and part of my large and small intestine. I have high liver enzymes and was told to reduce my pain medication intake (which I am prescribed pain meds, just don't pick them up and take them) and my fast food/fatty food intake which I did stop doing as often and my liver enzymes were a lot higher a few months later. I just found out that PCOS can be linked to Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease. Anybody else have these same symptoms and maybe give me an insight on what kinds of treatments I could possibly ask my doctor about? I am being seen at a military base and a lot of the doctors seem like their heads are in the clouds when it comes to actually helping me out.

Possible Sleep Apnea because I stop breathing a lot in the middle of the night (husband has to wake me up..) I know I have a definite hormone imbalance. So I guess it is just getting me to the right docs!!

Welcome to Healing Well, jcowger89! I edited your post to give it a subject line. I wish I could help you but have no experience in your issues except for CD. We do have members that have had liver issues so hopefully someone will come along to share.

You don't say what your symptoms are?

If nobody else chimes in, I would suggest posting on a PCOS forum, as that sounds like your main area of concern. I would help if I could, but I don't have PCOS and don't know a lot about it. Sorry :-/

Thank you Ides :).

My symptoms are diarrhea or constipation (which can change with a flip of a switch), lower back pain, stomach pains, arthritis (which effects my hands, knees, shoulders and elbows). Recently I have not had any menstrual cycles in 4 months, gained 20 lbs (while trying to be more active and eating healthier, which messes with my CD and constipates me), my liver enzymes are high so they told me that I have Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease and multiple cysts on my kidneys and ovary.

The doctor I saw says that PKD is only hereditary (nobody else in my family has it but that doesn't mean they didn't have it).

Crohn's is supposed to run in families too but nobody else has it either.

PCOS is new to me. I know my cousins wife had it and a guy that works with my husbands wife has it.... I feel like a weird numb tingly feeling down on that particular ovary, it feels similar to my surgery scars like there is a lot of scar tissue around it, but it hurts me a lot.

I have developed a non-alcoholic fatty liver. My GI says it happens sometimes from the inflammation from the Crohn's Disease.

I'll have to mention that to my next GI. I had to change GI's because my last one looked at me and said I doubt that you have Crohns... (after 8 different docs diagnosed me with Crohns.. he thought they misdiagnosed).

I was told I have fatty liver. I assumed it was because of being overweight. They told me to lose weight as if that would help it.
