Thank you for the post Rango. I was taking Remicade for a year or maybe more but it kept making me sick like it gave me the shingles and pneumonia and a lot of other problems so I quit about 2 months ago. Ever since I first started having pain and Crohn's symptoms in 2009 I went to a GI doctor at Scott and White but they gave me a resident doctor after seeing the main doctor and it's because of him that my crohn's got so out of control that I had to have surgery. The GI had me on so much prednisone a day, I went from 150 pounds to 190 pounds and was having unbelievable chest pains and then I had to have emergency surgery.

i know, remicade gave me a big scare when i had a reaction. im glade im not on it anymore. im almost done with my pred taper and once i'm off of it im never going back on no matter what. it's funny how the doctors say how great it is to get you to take it, but they don't say that theres like a million side affects. sometimes i get the feeling that some doctors are just in it for the money.

You can take painkillers for the pain, but you should try to find the source of it. That means tests, basically. In the meantime, you can follow a low-residue/liquid diet to try to minimise the pain.

I'm sorry the Remicade didn't work better. The only thing I don't recommend is going back on Prednisone. Dread med. Best of luck.
