I read a few places that some people take out the humira from the fridge an hour before injection. It isn't as painful supposedly. With the size of the needle any reduction in pain would be great. Anyone do this and does it help?

Hi I just wanted to get the jab over with, so would wait 10 mins if that I would get an ice pack and put it on the area where I was going to jab beforehand this helped and didn't sting as much, as the skin was cold aswell as the humira I also found it hurt less in my stomach than my leg x

yes, absolutely! And I use an icepack.

This is my routine:
1) Go to fridge, pull out Humira.
2) Grab icepack, pour glass of white wine
3) Turn on timer and 30-minute sitcom (usually an episode of Melissa&Joey on Netflix)
4) Ice abdomen, sip wine
5) Timer goes off right after the end of the show. Grab Humira pen, do shot
6) Finish wine, paint nails or take a hot bath

It helps me to take it easy and do some extra self-care on shot days. But that might be because I'm so bad about taking care of myself the rest of the time.

I take out Humira an hour before injection and it helps immensely. Hardly hurts at all. Hope this helps. Take care!

I do not like the pen- I use the syringe. I like to be able to control how quickly the meds go into me. I roll it between my palms to warm it up. No pain.
