Greetings,

It's been a long time since I've been on HW and I see some familiar screen names (hi). I'm a clinical psychologist with Crohn's and spent a lot of time here when I was first diagnosed 10 years ago. I hadn't even started grad school back then. I work at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine now doing research in the gastroenterology division. We've done several IBD studies over the years and Peter has been fantastic in supporting us by letting me post info in the IBD community here. We couldn't do it without you guys, that's for sure.

With that being said, we have 2 studies that I wanted to let you know about. Moderators, I have permission from Peter to post these. If you have any questions, please email me at ttaft@northwestern.edu. Thanks and good health to everyone! PS - if you're 18-25, you can participate in both studies.

Tiffany (betagirl)

Study #1: IBD Self-Management Survey (Ages 18 and up):
This is a research study to help us better understand management strategies of those with inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, indeterminate colitis). If you agree to participate, you will be asked to complete an online survey which will take approximately 30 minutes. If you're interested, please click the link below:

Study #2: IBD Self-Confidence Survey (Ages 18 to 25 only):

The title of this research study is "Validation of a Self-Efficacy Scale for Adolescents with Inflammatory Bowel Disease" and it is being carried out by Dr. Marisa Rodriguez and Dr. Laurie Keefer. The researchers at Lurie Children's and Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, want to learn more about how adolescents (teenagers) and young adults think about their ability to take care of themselves and their IBD. This study includes answering questions online and should take about 30 minutes. If you're intrested, please click the link below:

Tiffany - How wonderful to hear from you again! I'm still here, and so is CrohnieToo - can you believe it? Suggestion, if you see this has fallen off the first page in the next day or two, feel free to bump it off. I'll ask the other mods to look out for it also and do the same. Hope life is treating you well!

Ides! How the heck are you?! And Ms. CrohnieToo is still around. I hope she says hi. I'm doing well. Been in med-free remission since having a baby. If I'd known pregnancy was the cure, I'd have gotten knocked up 10 years ago ;)

My Guts are in remission. However, my ankylosing spondylitis is not. One of the lucky ones who got both. I'm taking Simponi, a anti-TNF. It's approved for AS but not CD. However, it seems to be keeping my intestines calm. I have had a host of issues, seems like a major one ever year. I think part of it is aging and not doing that very gracefully. Too a major header in October and injured way more than just my ego...LOL.

Congratulations on the baby! Girl or boy?
