I'm new at forums so forgive me if I sound idiotic, and I apologize for any spelling errors.
I have a daughter who has UC and a touch of Crohns in the small intestine. 21 yrs old, diagnoised at 17 with UC. She started taking 2 Lialda per day, kept it under control for the most part. She had to have a blood transfusion last March.
She is on Humiria now, 1 shot every other week. Taking prenazone now because of a flare up. She bleeds ALOT, along with the cramping and loose stools. Has accidents more and more. UGH, she's in college, very embarrassing for her.
She was home last summer, I kept an eye on her and made sure she was taking her 6-MP, 2 a day, Lialda, 4 a day. She tried to take iron and it upset her stomach so much she refused to take it. Had colonoscopy, best she has ever had so the doctor tells us. Well...back to college, her senior year, she had a flair up, went on prenazone again. Worked ok. After Christmas break, back to college, now she's having another flare up and on prenazone. She is bleeding alot and is enemic. She had a blood transfusion right before going on break. It only brought her level up 1.5 points. This all is scaring me to death that I'm going to lose my baby girl from something I didn't do to help. But there is so much out there I don't know where to turn. We have a doctor's appointment this coming Thursday. Part of me can't wait for her to come back home so I can keep an eye on her and hopefully she'll get better. She's so tired all of the time, never was like that before. I hope I gave anyone enough info to give me some insight. I rely on the doctor, because I'm scare of having her try other things. Any help, insight, etc., will GREATLY be appreciated.
