Hi everyone, I am super new to this, but after a ton of problems lately I would like to get some feedback on someone else's experience.
To begin with, I was diagnosed with Crohn's in 2009. I went through a number of different medications that didn't seem to work for me. So, I quit all medication and focused on a more holistic method of medication. In other words, I just focus on the foods I put into my body, did a ton of yoga, and tried to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Which, seemed to work a little while.
Meanwhile, I have been on a number of different types of birth control. Began with Yaz at 19, then Nuvaring, Orthotricyclen, and Seasonique most recently. I managed to develop a number of side effects from them. I had a continuous period for 3 + months and cramping on each different kind of birth control, with no lapse in period or pain. So, after finally going to the doctor (both gyno and GI) I was diagnosed with Endometriosis and am currently suffering with a massive flare of almost a foot of inflammation in the small intestines, anemia, and somehow a spot on my liver.
My question for the ladies: has anyone been through anything like this, i.e. had bad luck with birth control diagnosed with endometriosis and have Crohns? Has anyone had horrible side effects from birth control in general? If so, have you tried a number of different kinds and have any worked out for you at all?
I am a little bit at my wits end about all of this and super frustrated. Both of these ailments are life-consuming and I would really love some input from others who have gone through the same thing.
