My last vitamin D test was 18! My GP wanted me at 30 so she put me on a prescript
ion vit d2 at 50k per week but after I researched it myself, I decided to to D3 and divide it up to 7k per day. GP agreed. After about
3 months, I retested and was at about
30 but I continued to take it, wanting a level of at least 50. If I stay on the 7k per day, I usually test in the high 40's.
The higher the number, the better my crohns feels. I was advised from a supplement guru that I should be taking K2 with the D3 to make sure I don't shunt calcium to the wrong places but I am too afraid to try anything new right now.
I buy the D3 from CVS. I get a bottle of the 2000 iu and a bottle of the 1000.
I don't know how much you should be taking because it would be a good idea, at least the first time you take it, to be monitored and retested to see how fast your levels go up so you have an idea on how much to take once you get where you need to be.
Sorry if I babbled on. Hopefully something in the babbled helped you!
