pb4 - I see that you use a lot of natural supplements in your signature. What put you on to those?
I put myself on them based on research I did for years due to being allergic or non-responsive to traditional meds, but I need to update my sig, the only things I still take are the vitamin B12, vitamin A and Omega...and the Humira (one shot every week) I still eat as clean as possible though.
The regiment of naturals that I took helped some symptom wise but I was still very limited to living life like a normal person, and I also still ended up developing an RV fistula so clearly naturals and diet change wasn't enough to conquer my crohn's colitis. My inflammation didn't get any better from my old regiment either, I was at the point where my GI said if the biologics don't heal me up then I'd be facing an ostomy..guess the proof is in the pudding since IBD is a disease it really does require medication not just diet change and naturals (in my experience) although it may be different for those with milder disease activity but still the disease can easily go from being mild to severe.
I now have scaring in my rectum likely as a result of basically going "untreated" for 0ver 2 decades. I suppose I could be in worse shape going that long but then again my GI did say that I wasn't far off from getting an ostomy if the Humira didn't work.
bee propolis caps 500mg one cap twice/day
omegas 369 caps one cap twice/day
probiotics 10 billion cfu once/day
vitamins C-calcium ascorbate (easy on the gut) and vitamin A each once/day
Prodiem fibre supplement one cap before bed
I've also altered my diet (no junky stuff at all, processed, fast-foods, refined sugars, ect) and exercise regularly.
I went from 30+ bloody BM's/day with lots of lower back pain to an average of 5/day no bleeding no back pain and completely formed stools, still have severe urgency issues.
~~~~~~~~My bum is broken....there's a big crack down the middle of it! LOL :)~~~~~~~~
