In hopes that it may help someone on here I think it's time to post on this board as well as there are a few threads on the UC board for this.
First - I have had an extremely aggressive case of Crohn's-Colitis for say 12 years, I have been through Remicade, Methotrexte, Imuran, Anitbiotics, Pred etc etc and tried a bazillion natural things... Like many on here I would imagine with limited success.
EDIT: I have also did the whole 100% strict SCD thing (For well over a year) and started with the proper intro diet and all that... so I have tried many things. Again with limited success. I still do eat a lot of SCD foods cause well, I'm so used to just eating that way.
Urgency, blood in stool, terrible pain, massive mucus and mucus only bowel movements, diarrhea, where basically daily symptoms and varied from time to time, but mucus and diarrhea was always constant. Pain would set in during bowel movements and would be extremely intense. I was always told I would need surgery... I also (like most on here) looked ill... thin, malnourished to a degree and so on. A bad day in a flare would be 30-40 trips to the bathroom and a good day would be say 4-5. Average would be 10-15+ trips to the bathroom daily over the years.
Over a year ago I decided to try this Wild Oregano Oil but I wanted to also add Thyme Oil so I found a product that had both.
Flash forward a year (and some experimenting) and for the first time in 12 years I celebrated today a full 30 days with normal once a day poop! No blood, mucus, D, etc etc just once a day large trophy poop.
I've settled on what seems to do the trick for me so I wanted to post it for others in case someone else want to try or experiment:
So today is a major milestone. One full month, 30 days straight of once a day solid stool after 12 years of well.. crappy crapping.
Here is what I take daily to achieve this:
WOO/Thyme Oil Capsule - 1 Gel Cap
Vitamin A & D - 1 Gel Cap
WOO/Thyme Oil - 1 Gel Cap
Vitamin A & D - 1-2 Gel Caps
I take this every day.... During the first 6 months I took a Woo/Thyme Gel Cap 3x daily so one could try that as well. I cut back to twice daily as I have been feeling so well and have not noticed any negative effects.
Also of note I have tried double doses of WOO/Thyme so 6 gel caps a day - and this results in negative results (increased BM's, loose stool etc) so too much can be a bad thing.
It was the addition of the Vitamin A & Vitamin D along with the WOO/Thyme that was like the big "light switch". Vit D on it's own makes no difference. Same with Vitamin A on it's own, and WOO/Thyme on it's own works, but I have more bowel movements per day and usually some "looser" stool. Same holds for Imuran - On it's own it helps a little, but not much. I have been on it for months with limited success previously. Add what I take to it and it all seems to work together quite well.
IMPORTANT: Food however is still capable of inducing symptoms overnight which is usually D without much urgency and sometimes it can bring about
mucus, but for 30 days I stuck to my "safe foods" (just to see what would happen) which was not easy, but not all that hard really. Frustrating more than anything.
For me to figure out my safe foods, over the years and much trial and error I realized there were things I could eat like eggs, apples, apple sauce, grapes, certain protein powders, chicken, cheese and home made chicken soup where if I stuck to this I would feel pretty good that day and into the next. Not awesome, but less pain and less trips to the bathroom. So I sort of did an elimination type thing where I added new foods to my personal "safe list" above one at a time to flush out what I reacted to. It was hard at first, but now that I have normal poop it's easy for me to test what works and what does not. What triggers a bout of Diarrhea and sometimes mucus in me: So far steak, tomato sauce, anything wheat, field greens will kill me, but romaine and iceberg lettuce are now fine, any sprouted grain or sprouted brown rice or cereal made with either of these does me in in a bad way and results in intense D and mucus.
Anyway - Overall I just want to suggest an "Alternative Treatment" one could try.

I have also used liquid Vitamin D3 and separate Vitamin A caps with success... The two above were just easy to find and take daily versus a bunch of separate stuff.
Any questions just ask away and I can try and answer them.
PS This was not an overnight thing by any means. When I first started things were a little wonky for a period of time where there would be really good days followed by some really bad days, but over time (roughly 6 months of taking this daily) the good days started to outnumber the bad and eventually bad days became a rare thing. So I had to just stick to it and push through.
The other day I left my house at 7am, drove to Toronto for 2 hours, attended a busy trade show for 10 hours, drove home for another two hours, and not once did I have the need or was even concerned about
a washroom... A year ago I could;t have even made the trip there. On the drive home I was actually thinking just how much this darn disease ruled my life, though I didn't realize just how much until thinking about
it on the way home. Amazing really.
PSS - It's no cure... but it sure does work - at least in my case and hopefully for some others as well.
