Hi Kimmyy, First of all, welcome to the group.
It may more likely be Crohn's disease. It took 2 years for me to get the diagnosis. I had been chronically constipated rather than having diarrhoea for two or more years. In those years, I had severe intestinal bleeding on two separate occasions. I was admitted to the hospital for a week. The doctors carried out all the standard procedures, but couldn't find any inflammation or bleeding spot. It was only on the third occasion, I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease and a host of other diseases. According to my understanding, the intestine heals 10 or more times faster than an external wound. By the time, doctors carry out the colonoscopy, the inflammation might have subsided without leaving any trail.
The best way to start is by eliminating all processed foods, artificial colours, sweeteners, preservatives and if possible try to cook everything at home and eat organic foods. Read the ingredients on the product label very carefully. It may take sometime to get relief, but stick on to it. If you would like to treat your symptoms with the diet rather than medicines, I would be happy to help you further.
