When I was diagnosed all those years ago they told me there were a few other problems that went along with the disease ... But not that I got two significant diseases in their own right thrown in for free. How lucky am I I hear you all say... It's one of these that I'd like some advice on - Blood clots.
As I sit here in French hospital I'm considering whether I should make 'treatment of crohns and related conditions around the world' my life's work. A little compare and contrast thing ... Yeh great way to spend a life!
So back to the point, I'm here with my second run of both DVT and bi lateral PEs. I'm one of the small proportion who have got these NOT as a result of being hospitalised. I have read that non hospitalised Crohns/UC patients are something like 16 times more likely to get these after a flare up. Far greater than the 3.4 quoted in relation to hospitalised data. Anyway - happy to stand corrected on any of the figures ... Which mean bugger all tbf when you're the one ... What I want to ask is doesn't anyone know Why? I can hazard a logical guess but I can find nowhere that actually states why there is this increase.
Hoping other victims (as that's how I feel today) will be better informed than I.
Many thanks in advance ...
Ps first assessment: french hospital food better than nhs but only marginally... But no wine ?!?!? But this may be down to my bad french. Being ill and not being fluent is a struggle
