In preparation for my first visit with my Lyme specialist, I asked my GI's office for all my labwork results from the past year. Around this time last year, my GI tested me for anti-infliximab antibodies. She said at the time they were a little high, but now I'm seeing the numbers: My antibodies were at 213 ng/mL (anything higher than 21 indicates the presence of antibodies in the blood). My Infliximab Concentration/IFX Ab was 57ug/mL (anything higher than .4 indicates Remicade is in my bloodstream).
I'm having a hard time finding resources on line for determining if it's even worthwhile to continue taking Remicade if I've already built up antibodies. Remicade has never been a life-saver for me, and I have been symptomatic for the full two years I've been getting infusions.
I'm planning on talking to my GI today (assuming she calls) about this, especially as I was already thinking of stopping Remicade because of my Lyme. Has anyone else had to stop Remicade or Humira because of building up antibodies?
