Hello everyone!

Thanks for reading. Okay, here we go:

I have had Crohn's for over 22 years now (diagnosed at age 7) and would like to start a blog targeting newly diagnosed folks, specifically teenagers and twenty-somethings. Of course, anyone will be welcome to read it. The blog will be part journal, part guide on living, the pro's and con's of "coming out", dating, relationships, stress management, recipes, and more. While I have plenty of tips, tricks and advice to give...I need your help. I want to get a list of concerns/issues/topics that crohnies want more info on so I can build a resource for people instead of just another non-updated blog or website. The more issues I can talk about the more content I can upload, and for a blogger....content is crucial.

If you would, tell me what are some issues/concerns you have about living with crohn's now and what you would have liked to know more about (or concerns you had) when you were first diagnosed?

I think medicine is a big topic. And even the process of being diagnosed, what tests were done, if it was found early on or if there was some trial and error.

I was in my early 20's when I got sick with CD, I was a new wife and mom and was going through tremendous emotional stress before getting sick, I think it's vital that people get help as soon as possible when they feel overwhelmed from becoming sick (getting sick just made my already shattered state of mind much worse) sadly I never got help and spiraled into deep depression and anxiety and that can happen to people that aren't already going through some trauma in their lives, let alone when they become sick with CD...it's life altering to say the least.

Also letting people know that what works for some sadly doesn't work for all but it's important to try all kinds of things with diet and meds, naturals and lifestyle to find what works best for them but that there's no guarantee it will keep flares at bay indefinitely due to the nature of IBD.

Good luck with your Blog, I hope it helps many sufferers!!
DX with Crohn's Disease in 1991 shortly after becoming ill. CD was affecting small and large bowel & anus (perianal crohn's skin tags) & rectum for first 2 yrs of becoming sick, CD remained constant in colon (Crohn's colitis) & anus with anal tags, intolerant to oral meds. Currently on Humira (Feb 2014) once a week and B12, Vitamin A and Omega's daily. In remission but trying to combat IBS D/C.
