Hi, I am a bit confused about this ribbon expression. I guess that there is a possibility that I think of something else than the expression stands for. Basically I think of a knot, as you tie a present with a ribbon. But then again it seems that this expression mostly represents unusually thin continued stool. But if it was the latter adding ribbon word seems unnecessary and confusing - isn't it enough to say unusually thin stool of a considerable length? Or is it a combination of the two (knotty + length)?
If anybody could precisely answer this question, in terms what is meant by it and what is not, I am sure it would be of great help not only to me, but a lot of people googling out there :)
