Hi, here is my lengthy, twisted, unhopeful story.
Since my journey has begun, (7 months) I've lost 75lbs. I'm 20 years old. I'd always been a bigger girl, but there I was comfortable. Day in and day out, I experience mouth ulcers hemorrhoids, fissures, abdominal cramping. Nausea, vomiting after I eat, diarrhea throughout the night and day. I feel like a 90year old. My bones ache. I have itchy skin and blurred vision occasionally. Anyways, from the beginning... I work at my local hospital, as a PCA and one day I noticed abnormal diarrhea. And my first thought was cdiff. Considering my constant exposure to infectious diseases, however I do use standard precautions and infection prevention. I went to my PCP, and had some stool samples taken. Everything came back fine. The diarrhea however didn't stop. And then came everything else. Nausea, vomiting. I couldn't drink water without it coming up. Long story short, I ended up in the hospital for three days. Dehydrated. The drs assumed IBS, which in my opinion is a lazy diagnosis. And because I'm so young they were also thinking it was in my head, maybe an eating disorder, blah blah blah. It wasn't until they noticed the weight loss that they became concerned. I tried gluten free, no caffeine, no.carbonation, no read meat, no lactose. You name it I tried. I tried holistically. Peppermint enteric coated capsules, and meditation. The Drs "poo-pooed" me because of my age. Ive had a colonoscopy, endoscopy both with biopsies. I had multiple blood test. HIV, AIDS checked my A1C, I had Ultrasounds, A Prometheus lab draw, (havent gotten that result yet), CT Enterography, MRE (both with IV and P.O contrast) and I even had a bone marrow biopsy because they noticed my monocytes have been elevated for quite awhile and my dad has CMML Leukemia and they wanted to make sure I didn't have it either. Everything came back okay. Inflammation Ofcourse and abnormal labs because of poor nutrition. I live off of boost. I've seen 3 doctors. All quacks. I'm being seen.currently at Shands, a wonderful research hospital 2 hours from me. The new Dr mentioned seeing a granuloma. And multiple ulcers in my duodenum and esophagus. But nothing more than that. My symptoms all point to chrons but, my results are coming back okay.. I don't understand. It's affected my life. I can't work, can't eat, can't go to events, I'm not currently on any medication because they don't know what's wrong. I can't afford to lose any more weight, im 105lbs now. What could be happening?
