Here's a brief recap : For the past year or so, I've had a recurring perinanal abscess. Family doctor recently told me she suspects I have Crohns. MRI is booked for April and I've been referred to a colorectal surgeon to get colonscopy booked. Last abscess was cut and drained at the end of November.
OK so here's my current dilemma : The pain is back again. To date, the pain has been worst on right side and that is where the incision has always been made even though past ultrasound has shown the infection had also spread to the left side. I currently have pain and hard areas on both left and right side. This time is different in that the last incision has not completely healed so there is a tiny opening on the right where it's draining. My question is since it's draining already on its own, do I need to go the hospital to get it cut and drained? The opening is just a tiny hole so it's draining very slowly and the pain is getting worse (though no where near as bad as it has been with past abscess). Also wondering if the left needs to be cut and drained as well. I don't know if its a separate abscess or connected to the right side.
