I've had the endoscopy and colonoscopy done, as well at ct scan of abd and pelvis and small bowel follow through. They put me on generic Levsin which does nothing for me during my severe spells so my GI in Greenville, NC wants to refer me to Duke. However I am trying to do my own research on the BEST doctor at either unc or Duke, does anyone have any recommendations? I prefer someone who listens and doesn't blow what I say off as far as my symptoms. I am a nurse myself and know first hand how health care these days are , this stuff is not cheap and I'm suffering.
I have a really complex family history as well, my mom has lupus, scleroderma/mixed connective tissue disease/auto immune etc as well as GI disorders so with my family history and my sx etc they do believe I am at the start of crohns and have some type of autoimmune disorder but of course the labs are negative just like my moms when she started out so I need someone who listens to the patient and who is GOOD!
Any recommendations would be so helpful! Thank you kindly
